Ms. Teresa brings more than 30 years of experience working with children to Early Care & Education Southlake. She holds a Child Development Associate Credential, State Director’s Credential/License, and CPR/First Aid certification, and she brings a caring, relationship-focused approach to her role as School Director. 

Since joining the organization in July 2026, Ms. Teresa has supported children across infant, toddler, preschool, Pre-K, before and after school, and summer/holiday programs. Her leadership mission is to build strong relationships with families and create a school community where children can thrive and parents feel confident knowing their child is cared for, respected, and loved. 

Ms. Teresa has lived in Texas for 30 years after growing up in Colorado. She has two children, a son and a daughter, and comes from a family of four siblings. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, coffee, visiting friends and family, Harry Potter, concerts, and local events. She brings warmth and connection into her work each day, helping families feel welcomed and children feel supported.

Southlake Early Care is hands down ran by saints and angels....I am not kidding. From the directors to the new teachers, I can't imagine where these people are found because they are incredible. This is one of 4 or 5 in DFW and the owners of the facility really seem to care about retention and running great facilities. They offer great benefits and training that is well above the industry and I believe that is a key piece of how they have attracted such amazing talent who also treats these kids so well. Every day that our child has been here, I know he is loved and cared for as if he is family. I love that the teachers are so invested in their development, even as infants. My infant son was part of their yearly art show and his teachers put a lot of work into his "art piece". They have worked so well around how I want to feed my son, his breastmilk needs, helping him with transitions as he grows, etc. When we transitioned classrooms, there were tears from our family and his teachers because they are truly that invested in their kids. I never knew I could be so attached to teachers like I am! Ms. Nashwa, Ms. Elise, Ms. Lilly, Ms. Tammy and Ms. Lisa are beyond impressive with these littles and know each child so well, I trust them like family. If they could teach our son for the rest of his years, we would gladly sign up for that. Ms. Mya is a newer teacher who also overlapped a bit with our class and I believed she fit in and learned so quickly. I was hesitant to have a new teacher at first but I think her transition is a testament to the three directors here and the teachers that she worked with. I will never be able to thank these women enough for what they have done for our family! If you are a new mom looking for first time care like I was, you will not be disappointed here!

I cannot say enough good things about this daycare facility! As a first time mom, I was extremely skeptical and had TONSSS of mom guilt about my daughter starting daycare. Southlake Early Care has helped my daughters growth tremendously! This daycare has tons of activities and events for the children and families! The staff is very welcoming, professional, and kind. Ms. Samantha, Ms. Brandi, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Clover, Ms. Amy, Ms. Alma, Ms. Sue, and Ms. Kristin all have gone above and beyond for the Canty family, and we appreciate you all ! For the staff I was unable to name, I appreciate the great VIBES in the morning/afternoons, the smiles, and kind gestures! Thanks Southlake Early Care!

Always goes above and beyond! You feel apart of their family from day one! Somehow they greet you (the parent) EVERY single day by name! It’s magic I don’t know how they remember everyone’s name like that, just an example that they put effort into the little things, that make them worth a 5 star rating !!!!!
